3/27: Tommy Pico, Felix Bernstein, Jessi Probus & Caroline Contillo




Tommy “Teebs” Pico is the author of absentMINDR (VERBALVISUAL, 2014)—the first chapbook APP published for iOS mobile/tablet devices—was a Queer/Art/Mentors inaugural fellow, 2013 Lambda Literary fellow in poetry, and has poems in BOMB, Guernica, and [PANK]. Originally from the Viejas Indian reservation of the Kumeyaay nation, he now lives in Brooklyn.



Felix Bernstein debuted on YouTube with his satirical (yet real) high-school coming out video in 2008; going on to play Amy Winehouse, Lamb Chop, and Leopold (Peter) Brant. With Gabe Hoot Rubin, he made the filmsUnchained Melody and Boyland. Together they directed and starred in Red Krayola’s opera Victorine at the 2012 Whitney Biennial. Bernstein's critical and uncritical writings have appeared in Bombthe BelieverHyperallergic, and Boston Review. His book of essays, Notes on Post-Conceptual Poetry, is out from Insert Blanc Press and his book of poems, Burn Book, is forthcoming from Nightboat. With Vanessa Place, he is co-editing the forthcoming anthology Social Media, Cruel Medium. His solo performance Adonis or Bieber Bathos Elegy will premiere at the Whitney in the fall and he is currently the R & D Fellow at the New Museum. Jessi Probus is a writer and designer living in Queens. Her writing has appeared in Nano Fiction, Word Riot, McSweeney's, BuzzFeed, The Rumpus. 




Caroline Contillo is a writer and artist based in Ridgewood, Queens. Her work can be found at Rhizome, The Interdependence Project, and Refinery 29. In addition to stand-up comedy, poetry, and performance art, Caroline teaches meditation workshops for artists and performers. Her work and future events can be found at spacecrone.com
